You are here: Home / General Information / About Hyannis
Hyannis Harbor is the best-kept secret on the East Coast. It is beautiful, well protected and one of the few natural deep water harbors on Cape Cod with a resort Marina that accommodates day sailors to deep draft megayachts. As homeport to sail boats, cruising yachts, sport fishing, and charter fishing vessels, it is lively with nautical activity and depicts a classic Cape Cod scene. Hyannis is a perfect base for a day sail, exploration to other harbors, or as a refuge to water-weary travelers. All of a boater's needs can be met here and we are central to cruising Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.
In addition to its harbor, Hyannis boasts a village steeped in history (Baxter's Wharf was settled in 1666) that provides an array of on-shore activities and is the home of the Kennedy family. It is also the transportation heart of Cape Cod: flights to and from Boston and New York run regularly at Barnstable Airport, a mile inland, and bus travel is available as well.
As one enters Lewis Bay, the Hyannis Yacht Club is to the west. Hyannis Marina is to the Northeast, just inside the inner harbor. It is a full service Marina with an excellent discount marine store, with prices to beat the big name competitors, complete service & repair performed by our Certified Mercury/Mercruiser technicians. We also service Yamaha outboards, Kohler generators & Cummins engines. We specialize in hull repairs and hauling up to 50 tons. Our experienced Dock Staff is eager to accommodate the captains and crew of any size vessel, deep draft megayachts, and high speed refueling. We offer showers, ice, laundry, WiFi, dockside TV, courtesy cars, locally available car rental and hired driver services. See the Dockmaster for any concierge service needed.
